Hailing from Halifax, Peter Ibbetson (Naylor) was born into a household where there was always music playing (he remembers The Beatles particularly, and lots of Motown and soul records).

Peter moved to London for more opportunities as a musician. Familiar to many who have made the move to the capital, his first room, in Catford, was a classic London box room, for which he paid dirt cheap rent and a couple of dinners a week to a trumpet-playing friend of a friend. Looking back at the people he met and the gigs that he played, Peter describes that box room in Catford as the foundation of everything that’s followed.

As he moved into a more electronic sphere, getting to grips with new hardware and playing weird and wonderful gigs of all shapes and sizes, Peter was deep in the hustle; becoming a regular session musician for the likes of George Fitzgerald, Rosie Lowe and Makeness, touring major festivals all over Europe, this love of artistry, live performance and music led him to his own artist project, and here we are…

With Naylor, he looks to get back to the “bare bones” of what music is — melody, harmony, and rhythm. Inspired by early Jamie xx, and the way artists like Bicep and Caribou have been able to translate their material onto stage, Naylor is a bright and intricate electronic project that will welcome collaborations with vocalists and, most importantly, be performed live with a full band.

After an extended hiatus not of his own choice, Naylor is back with a slew of new releases slated for the first half of 2025. Returning to the studio over the last few months with artists and songwriters, Pete is ready to delve into the world of collaborations and songs, starting with “Empty Lines”, ft Eloise Keeble.

Hailing from Oslo, Norway, Ulver emerged in 1992, rooted in the raw energy of black metal and steeped in the mystique of Norwegian folklore. Their debut, Bergtatt – Et Eeventyr i 5 Capitler (1994), cemented their place in the Norwegian black metal pantheon while revealing early signs of their restless creativity. Now a genre classic, it marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey.

Ulver swiftly transcended black metal’s confines. Their sophomore release, Kveldssanger (1996), traded aggression for haunting acoustic folk, signaling a bold departure. By 1998’s Themes from William Blake’s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, they had plunged into a fearless fusion of ambient, industrial, and electronica, weaving philosophical depth into their sonic tapestry.

The 2000s saw Ulver refine their artistry with albums like Perdition City (2000) and Shadows of the Sun (2007), where brooding introspection met cinematic soundscapes—music often described as scores for imaginary films. In the years that followed, their palette grew ever more daring, embracing jazz, synth-pop, drone, and orchestral elements. Collaborations like Terrestrials (2014) with drone titans Sunn O))) and the chamber-infused Messe I.X-VI.X (2013) showcased their versatility, while The Assassination of Julius Caesar (2017) and Flowers of Evil (2020) married ‘80s synth vibes with their signature shadowy edge.

With over half a million records sold, Ulver’s influence spans genres, inspiring artists worldwide with their refusal to conform. In 2020, their story was immortalized in Wolves Evolve – The Ulver Story (House of Mythology), a 336-page autobiography blending intimate band interviews—led by Tore Engelsen Espedal—with essays by Phil Alexander, Nile Bowie, and Torolf Kroglund, plus rare archival photos. Hailed by critics and fans alike, it’s a testament to their enduring impact.

Ulver remains a force of boundless invention, continually pushing the boundaries of sound while retaining an unmistakable soul. Revered as icons of experimental music, they invite listeners into a world where evolution is not just a process, but an art form.

Heartworms, the South London-based post-punk project led by Jojo Orme, is emerging as a compelling force on the contemporary UK music scene. Before embarking on her musical journey, Jojo struggled with finding her place and identity. Music became her refuge, allowing her to channel her experiences and emotions into her art. Heartworms' music combines intense, raw emotion with a disciplined, almost regimented sound that stands out in the post-punk landscape. Jojo's songwriting is deeply personal, often exploring themes of mental health, resilience, and self-discovery.

Heartworms quickly caught the attention of the influential label Speedy Wunderground, known for nurturing innovative artists, such as Fontaines DC and Wet Leg. Working with producer Dan Carey, Jojo refined her sound, resulting in a series of releases that garnered critical acclaim.

The debut EP, "A Comforting Notion", received critical acclaim from The Sunday Times, Dazed, The FADER, The Quietus, Loud And Quiet, The Line Of Best Fit, and So Young Magazine. The EP's singles were added to the BBC Radio 6 Music playlist and received spot plays from Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and Gemma Bradley.

“With my EP, people kind of pigeonholed me into post-punk,” says Jojo Orme, the artist behind Heartworms (see this month’s NME). “I was like, ‘Cool, I can do that, but I can also do way more’ – I can also be poppy and catchy, and this album represents that.” Produced by longtime collaborator Dan Carey, Glutton For Punishment combines the propulsive, motorik tendencies of gothic stalwarts Depeche Mode with the lyrical dexterity of PJ Harvey and the off-kilter rhythms of LCD Soundsystem into a powerful sonic onslaught.

Across Glutton For Punishment’s nine sharply realised agit-pop tracks, Orme sings about broken families and broken relationships with bracing frankness – every song shot through with the unnerving feeling that maybe she enjoys the chaos. The album reveals the 26 yr old as a talented stylist and cutting lyricist.

Backed by a full live band, Heartworms’ performances are a masterclass in poise and power. Jojo describes the theatrical elements of her shows, punctuated by her intense stare, as a rebellion against preconceived notions of "smallness" and fragility in female musicians. On stage, she projects an image of strength and total control, with uniformity playing a significant role in her art. Inspired by the metronomic music and meticulous fashion of bands like Interpol and Kraftwerk, and the dark humour of PJ Harvey, Jojo's music is a life-affirming exercise that expels her passions, including military history and the poetry of Pound, Thomas, and Keats.

Gaël Rakotondrabe was born on Réunion Island into a musically rich family (he is the great-nephew of René Lacaille). He began playing piano at 11 and, by 17, earned his diploma from the Regional Conservatory, securing third place in the "Pian'Austral Jazz" competition. In 2001, he moved to Paris to study at the Bill Evans Piano Academy, later graduating from both the Bill Evans Academy and the Nadia and Lily Boulanger Conservatory.

Rakotondrabe’s career flourished with his quintet dedicated to Horace Silver, which won the Sunside Trophy in 2005. In 2007, he performed at Carnegie Hall and began working with CocoRosie, contributing as pianist, arranger, and co-producer, touring internationally through 2011. His collaboration with the band spanned from 2007 to 2011, including tours across the globe, performances at prestigious venues like Coachella, the Sydney Opera House, and the Olympia in Paris.

His 2008 win of the first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival's international piano competition, with Fazil Say as jury president and Quincy Jones as honorary president, led to the "Montreux Jazz Winner" tour.

Rakotondrabe’s theater and opera work includes serving as musical director for Robert Wilson’s The Life and Death of Marina Abramović, with Anohni, Marina Abramović, and Willem Dafoe. He also collaborated with Antony and the Johnsons on worldwide tours. In film, he composed scores for Afterschool (2008), Mystery (2012), and University of Disaster (2017), featured at the Venice Biennale.

A prolific producer, he worked with Yasmine Hamdan, Mélanie Pain, Woodkid, and CocoRosie. In 2022, his score for Other People's Children earned nominations at the Venice Film Festival and Sundance. In 2023, his compositions for The Wild One, awarded Best Cinematography at Tribeca, and On the Edge, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival, further solidified his standing in contemporary music.

Soft Blade, the brainchild of Moscow-born musician and artist Violetta Shabash, is an influential figure in the underground Russian music scene. Known for her innovative approach, she blends elements of ambient, house, techno and dub to create a distinctive, captivating sound. Often referred to as a DIY project, Soft Blade stands out for Violetta's hands-on method in writing and mixing her tracks, characterised by a memorable lo-fi sound, ethereal vocals, and bright, evocative lyrics.

Many listeners have shared that they deeply understand her emotions, and find it to be a healing and intimate experience, even though she sings in Russian. Violetta's work often evokes a sense of nostalgia for something that hasn't happened yet, stirring bittersweet feelings. Tracks like 'Zerkalo' and her latest release, 'Koster', exemplify her ability to craft intricate sonic narratives that resonate deeply with her audience.

Soft Blade's artistry is not confined to studio recordings. Her project, eight years in the making, is audiovisual in spirit, with Violetta creating her own cover art, merchandise and cassette designs. Although Violetta only started performing live a couple of years ago, she has performed at several major Russian electronic festivals.

Beyond her solo projects, Soft Blade has demonstrated a commitment to supporting and uplifting fellow artists. Her recent compilation album, 'Ne Strashno,' features an array of talented Russian artists with all proceeds dedicated to charity. This project not only highlights her collaborative spirit but also her dedication to using her platform for positive social impact.

As Soft Blade continues to evolve her sound and push the boundaries of electronic music, her influence on the genre is undeniable. For both long-time enthusiasts and newcomers to the scene, following her journey promises a rich and rewarding listening adventure.

Mexican-born musician Fernando Corona primarily records and performs under the name Murcof, creating ghostly compositions that fuse elements of classical music, minimal techno, ambient drone, and free improvisation, among other genres. His first album, 2002's Martes, blended the holy minimalism of composers like Arvo Pärt and Henryk Górecki with glitchy, microscopic beats.

He abandoned techno influences and focused more on collaborating with live musicians on later releases like 2008's The Versailles Sessions; additionally, he has recorded albums or performed with Talvin Singh, Erik Truffaz, Philippe Petit, and others. Murcof's ambitious 2021 full-length The Alias Sessions encompassed all of the project's sonic hallmarks, from sparse, eerie ambience to minutely detailed beats.

Traumer, the alias of French artist Romain Poncet, has been one of the most influential forces in techno for over a decade. Known for his boundary-pushing productions and electrifying DJ sets, he has earned a reputation as one of the best exports of French electronic music. With a diverse range of aliases and projects, Traumer continuously explores and expands his unique sonic universe, blending techno, minimal, and tech-house with precision and creativity.

His high-energy performances, filled with unreleased tracks and secret edits, have made him a favorite among fans and peers alike, earning him coveted slots at iconic venues and major festivals worldwide. Traumer's sets are a masterclass in intensity and immersion, captivating audiences from the first beat to the last.

In 2016, Romain launched his label, get-traum, to further expand his artistic vision. The imprint has since become a platform for showcasing fresh talent and hosting dynamic showcases, with a focus on innovation both inside and outside the world of music. With an ever-growing global presence, Traumer is now a name synonymous with forward-thinking techno and an ever-evolving musical journey.

Jen Jis is a French producer and songwriter. Based in Paris, he began his professional career writing and composing tracks for European artists. In the meantime, he was also touring the world (China, Europe, US, Canada) with several other projects. His first single, "Women" a deep house pop song composed with the singer Lawrence Lea, earned him a contract deal in 2015 with Ultra Records even before the track was released on line. Jen Jis is now signed with Universal Music / Polydor.

Composer, producer, and performance artist Elizabeth Bernholz created the “transformative” performance persona Gazelle Twin in 2009 to encompass; composition, studio albums, soundtracks, art installations and live performance, intended to openly address a deep-rooted aversion to traditional and contemporary norms across the music industry, particularly for women. Her ever-changing, identity-warping personas based on powerful, emotional themes and a fiercely independent spirit has driven her output and many collaborations since.

Bernholz has independently released three critically acclaimed studio albums to date; The Entire City (2011), Unflesh (2014), and Pastoral (2018), together with three soundtrack LPs from album off-shoot performance projects; Out of Body (2015), Kingdom Come (2017), and Deep England with NYX Electronic Drone Choir (2021).

As a newly established soundtrack composer, her credits for Film, TV, and Video games include: AMC’s The Walking Dead, The Virtues (C4), Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Netflix), Nocturne (Amazon/Blumhouse), The Power (BFI/Shudder) and Then You Run (Kudos/Sky). Her collaborations as vocalist and producer include Gary Numan, Halsey (through Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross), Maxine Peake, Perc, Blanck Mass, DJ Dave Clarke and more.

Anetha is a French artist, DJ, producer, label manager, talent agency co-founder and a trained architect.Transmitting techno, trance and experimental music, Anetha whips up bouncy basslines, glorious melodies and a touch of melancholic motifs, gracing clubs and festivals worldwide. Since breaking out on the Parisian scene in 2012, the Bordeaux-based artist has garnered a global audience, delivering lush and luminous sounds with attention to detail, nimble mixing and absolute focus.

Several releases colour Anetha's discography, from her debut EP 'Ophiuchus' on Work Them in 2015 to music on her own label, Mama told ya. Launched in 2019, the label platforms rising stars through its catalogue and showcases worldwide.

Michel Amato, better known as The Hacker, has long been a pivotal figure in electronic music, influencing generations of fans and artists alike. From his debut in 1996, he has continually pushed the boundaries of dance music, carving out his own space within techno, electro, EBM, and synth-pop.

Amato’s most iconic partnership came with Miss Kittin, with whom he created some of electroclash’s most memorable tracks, including "Champagne" (1998) and "Frank Sinatra" (2000). Released on DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolo label, these collaborations introduced a new wave of accessibility to underground dance music, earning both artists widespread acclaim and selling hundreds of thousands of records worldwide.

Donae’o aka Ian Greenidge was always destined to make a career out of music after growing up in a house where melodies were a major force. His mother was a singer and as a youngster growing up in north west London it was common place for her to be heard belting out tunes in the house. A young Donae’o was also a regular companion when she was out performing and loved soaking up the atmosphere. In fact you could say this is where he felt most at home.

With a list of collaborators that includes Giggs, Fredo, Dizzee Rascal and JME, Donae'O is the artist holding down London's underground. The producer, songwriter, rapper and vocalist has been an early adopter of almost all crucial urban movements coming out of the capital - from garage to grime to the UK funky to Afrobeats - that continues to influence today's sounds.

Moeaike is an innovative DJ and producer duo from Taranto, Italy, consisting of Roberto Dell’Osso and Gaetano Laterza. Since launching their project in 2019, Moeaike has carved a unique space within the electronic music scene, blending melodic sounds with afro house rhythms. Raised in a home filled with music—courtesy of their parents' pirate radio station—the brothers’ early influences were diverse. Matteo, the older sibling, started as a hip-hop DJ before diving into film studies, while Amedeo, a classically trained violinist, turned to electronic music production, drawing inspiration from classical compositions and cinematic scores.

The Mathame project was born in the isolation of Mount Etna, where the brothers moved to help their parents run a bed and breakfast. Notre Dame is a French artist, musician, and producer who gained recognition in the early 2010s. He began producing music at a young age, experimenting with a range of genres. Over time, he decided to focus on electronic music and develop his own unique style. Naive New Beaters is a French electronic band formed in 2007 in Paris, known for blending electronic music with rock, rap, and experimental pop. The group was founded by Meike Clarelli (vocals) and Matteo Colombini (guitar), later joined by guitarist Marcella Menozzi and multi-instrumentalist/producer Davide Fasulo. Their early demos caught the attention of Les Inrockuptibles, landing them a spot on the 2007 compilation Ceux qu’il faut découvrir. The success of their single "Live Good" led to a partnership with Nokia and a viral music video directed by Megaforce.

Their debut album Wallace (2009) marked the beginning of their rise, with a tour across Europe and prestigious festival performances including Glastonbury, Sziget, and Vieilles Charrues. They also opened for The Kills, Miike Snow, and Darwin Deez. In 2012, their sophomore album La Onda was released, and the single "Jersey" propelled the band further into the spotlight. La Onda saw them playing festivals like Primavera, Pohoda, and touring Asia.

In 2016, they released their third album, À la Folie, with the single "Heal Tomorrow" featuring Izïa, which went platinum. The album explored themes of relationships and saw the band expand their live lineup with a female rhythm section. Their entrepreneurial spirit led them to launch Naive New Beer, a craft beer sold at their concerts.

2019 saw the release of Fun Hours, their fourth album, with collaborations from Ana Zimmer and rapper JeanJass. Their fifth album, FVTVRVM, is set for release in June 2024, alongside a new tour and more exciting collaborations. Zamilka's heavy, rhythmic sounds are filled with lots of bass. Though associated with techno, her music reaches way beyond the definition of the genre and it is not easy to pigeonhole. It oscillates between electronica, world music and noise. She takes inspirations from various sources: raw sounds taken from native Silesia, precisely interlaced with tribal chants and oriental elements. Holding sturdiness of an industrial grinder, pensive yet melodic, trance-like.

Her tracks were played on Radio BBC 6 Music by no other than Iggy Pop himself, Mary Anne Hobbs and Tom Ravenscroft. Nine Inch Nails recommended one of her tracks on their official Spotify playlist.

Recently Zamilka's stepped into the gaming world and contributed to the hottest release of the season: RUINER (a top-down action shooter created in the spirit of cult cyberpunk anime and game classics). Her music features heavily throughout the game.

Zamilka debuted back in 2014 with two singles: Quarrel and Duel 35 (which was used by Dior during one of the fashion shows featured in Tokyo). She had the opportunity to work on various musical (remixes) and fashion projects. She also toured Europe playing festivals such as CTM, Primavera, Norbergfestival, TodaysArt, Insomnia, Fantoche among many other. Her releases to date are: UNTUNE (album) 2014 and UNDONE (EP) 2016. Recently, Zamilka collaborated with Resina, Polish cellist and composer signed to FatCat Records, who lent her vocals on the newest track entitled “Closer”.

The Audience Award at the 17th Film Music Festival went to Zamilka for her soundtrack for the film „Mother’s Day”, directed by Mateusz Rakowicz. Its' first week on Netflix, the film topped the Global Top 10 ranking. The music for „Mother’s Day” was also nominated for a Fryderyk Award (Polish equivalent of Grammy) in the Album of the Year: Film Music category.

Their gift for creating emotion through the synths and percussive instruments in their studio translates uniquely onto the dancefloor, where their slick, moving take on techno makes for a special kind of peak in the club. They draw from the psychedelic hooks of 1980s soundtracks and from modern dance music’s emphasis on sound design to create a distinctive and immensely powerful sound.

In 2012 they recorded and released their first single ‘Cagliostro’ on breakthrough label Life and Death, following that up by essential collaborations with Tale Of Us and Somne for the same label and compilation appearances on Sven Vath’s Cocoon and Recondite’s label Plangent.

Through a string of remixes, Mind Against leant their touch to the work of, amongst others, Art Department, Róisín Murphy and Green Velvet. More recently also for SHDW & Obscure Shape and Hakimonu, inspiring a remix EP of the latter’s “Insular Realms” through a masterstroke club edit.All the while, they have become consumate and globally in-demand DJs, dazzling at many of electronic music’s leading clubs and festivals.

Their understanding of each other plays out in the dynamism of their joint DJ sets, where a refined selection and intricate mixing forms a journey like no other. Case in point: their revered Essential Mix from 2016.Mind Against’s discography has grown with standout releases for Tale Of Us’ Afterlife label and Scuba’s Hotflush, including further collaborations with Locked Groove and Aether. In 2018, they will return to the Afterlife label with a new EP and continue enchant the crowds they play for.

Fujiya & Miyagi is a British band formed in Brighton, East Sussex, in 2000. The current lineup includes David Best (vocals and guitar), Stephen Lewis (synths and vocals), Ed Chivers (drums), and Ben Adamo and Ben Farestuedt (bass and vocals).

Over the years, they have released nine studio albums: Electro Karaoke in the Negative Style (2002), Transparent Things(2006), Lightbulbs (2008), Ventriloquizzing (2011), Artificial Sweeteners (2014), Fujiya & Miyagi (2017), Different Blades from the Same Pair of Scissors (2017), Flashback (2019), and Slight Variations (2022). They are currently signed to the label Impossible Objects of Desire worldwide.

Hadrien Federiconi, better known by his stage name Feder, is a French DJ, producer, and composer renowned for his unique blend of minimalist deep house and atmospheric pop. His musical journey began with a passion for electronic music, and in 2014, he gained widespread attention with his breakout track Can't Get Away, which went viral and set the stage for his rise in the music industry.

In 2015, Feder achieved commercial success with the release of Goodbye featuring Lyse, a track that topped the charts in France and became a global hit, establishing him as one of the key figures in the French electronic music scene. That same year, he followed up with Blind featuring Emmi, which also charted in the top five in France, further solidifying his place in the spotlight.

Norman Cook, born on July 31, 1963, in Bromley, Kent, England, is one of the most influential figures in the dance and electronic music scenes of the 1990s. After beginning his career in the 1980s with the indie rock group The Housemartins, Cook transitioned into the world of techno and acid house, collaborating with acts like Beats International, Freak Power, and Pizzaman. His versatility as a DJ, multi-instrumentalist, and producer led him to launch his solo project under the moniker Fatboy Slim, where he became a pioneering force in the big beat movement.

Fatboy Slim’s debut solo album, Better Living Through Chemistry (1996), introduced his distinctive blend of breakbeats, funky basslines, and eclectic samples, but it was his 1998 album You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby that cemented his place in the global spotlight. With iconic tracks like “Praise You” and “Right Here, Right Now,” the album was a massive commercial success and solidified his status as a trailblazer in electronic music.

In 2001, following the release of Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars, Norman Cook orchestrated a monumental free concert on Brighton Beach, which not only attracted hundreds of thousands of fans but also became an annual festival, further showcasing his cultural influence. His subsequent album Palookaville (2004) continued to showcase his evolving sound, blending electronic beats with elements of rock and funk.

In 2010, Cook collaborated with former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne on the groundbreaking ballet and album Here Lies Love, a bold fusion of music, theatre, and political commentary. Around the same time, he also ventured into new territory with The BPA (British Port Authority), further expanding his musical portfolio.

Throughout his illustrious career, Norman Cook has enjoyed numerous UK Top 40 hits under a variety of aliases, solidifying his position as one of the most innovative and enduring figures in modern music. From his pioneering contributions to big beat and dance music to his genre-defying collaborations, Fatboy Slim’s influence continues to resonate, making him an iconic figure in the evolution of electronic music.

Enigmatic London trio Ebbb have caused a stir in London’s underground communities with their live shows. Despite being together for barely a year, the band (comprised of producer Lev Ceylan and vocalist Will Rowland, with added live drummer Scott MacDonald) have already landed on something truly singular. Fusing pulsing rhythms, immersive electronic production, sparkling melodies, layered vocal harmonies and beats that veer from ambient to industrial, the result is an idiosyncratic hybrid of sounds. One that the group describes as “Brian Wilson meets Death Grips.”

Ebbb's journey began through shared musical endeavours, fueled by mutual admiration and friendship. Ebbb exist in a constant state of duality and dichotomy, often ricocheting back and forth between pristine beauty and gut-rumbling noise; or even existing in both states simultaneously. This can be heard from the opening ‘Himmel’, a song that steadily builds from a choral-esque soundscape before a pneumatic drill-like beat enters, as Rowland’s voice glides with grace over the grinding rhythm. “That song encapsulates the two sides of the sound we have quite well”, says Rowland, describing it to be "kind of like heaven and hell.” 'Swarm', meanwhile, features a captivating groove that evolves unexpectedly into a vibrant burst of experimental pop.

Yet Dwele has cultivated his own spirited road with five critically acclaimed albums “Subject”, “Some Kinda” “Sketches Of A Man”, “W.ants W.orld W.omen” and “Greater Than One” behind him.

As a multiple Grammy Award Nominee, he has blazed a trail for this generation’s newfound Soul/ R&B era. Although being the humble man that he is, Dwele has toured around the globe with sell-out crowds in his wake! Africando represents a cross-cultural collaboration between top-ranked, New York-based Latin musicians and African vocalists. While lyrics are sung in Wolof, Manding and French, the group’s sizzling-hot dance rhythms blend classic mambo, Cuban son and New York salsa.

Africando was the brainchild of Senegalese producer Ibrahima Sylla and the Malian, Cuban-trained arranger Boncana Maiga. The original recordings with Senegalese vocalists Pape Seck, Medoune Diallo and Nicolas Menheim were released in 1993 - “Trovador” and 1994 – “Tierra Tradicional”, and were an instant success amongst both African and Latin music lovers. (A recent cover version of their hit “Yay Boy” by Marc Anthony became another Grammy winner!)

Africando’s success led to the release of a further 6 albums and a live recording. The original line-up was expanded by an increasing cast of guest vocalist, which included some of the most famous names in African music. Salif Keita, Koffi Olomide, Sekouba Bambino, Thione Seck, Lokua Kanza and Amadou Balake can all be heard on the aptly named Africando All Stars (released in 2000).

Africando’s final release, “Viva Africando” was released in 2013, the year of the premature death of its legendary producer Ibrahima Sylla.

The Garifuna Collective has performed in over 30 countries in 5 continents and have been part of the most celebrated Garifun albums of all time, including the critically acclaimed Wátina, recipient of the Womex and BBC World Music Award and voted by Amazon as the Number One World Music Album of All Time.

They are a seasoned collective of musicians from across different generations, with a dynamic that comes from of playing and traveling the world together, sharing their music and stories with global audiences. Their performances spark the history and soul of Garifuna culture into vivid life. While their recordings dip into the massive well of Garifuna songs to create new compositions — some of the singers in the band know hundreds of songs!

The group has maintained its strength despite incredible adversity but the history of the Garifuna people is one of struggle. The Collective take their place in a long line of ancestors, maintaining and growing the Garifuna cultural identity, in a conversation between generations and traditions.

Unklevon is a French electronic music producer and live performer, whose unique blend of electro, techno, and Detroit-inspired sounds has earned him a strong reputation on the global stage. Emerging in the late 2010s, his music fuses raw energy with futuristic atmospheres, drawing on his diverse influences. He first gained attention at the Astropolis Festival in 2018 and quickly signed with Boys Noize’s label, BNR, where he became a regular fixture. His breakthrough came with releases on Boys Noize Records, as well as labels like International Chrome, Nechto, and Dome.

Throughout his career, Unklevon’s energetic, robotic-infused productions have garnered support from notable figures in the scene, including Boys Noize, VTSS, Nastia, and Tiga. His tracks have been featured on BBC Radio 1, NTS, and Rinse FM, gaining traction in both Europe and beyond. His collaborations have been a cornerstone of his success: in 2022, he teamed up with Brodinski for a notable EP, and in 2023, his live performances took him across Europe, South America, and North America.

Unklevon’s debut album, UN1C, was released in 2024 on Boys Noize Records, featuring 11 tracks that showcase his diverse sound. Collaborators include Boys Noize, Alina Pash, Maral, DJ Mell G, and Vel. The album spans everything from hypnotic, trance-infused rhythms to gritty electro and acid-laden beats, further cementing Unklevon’s place in the global electronic scene. Tracks like Spa8cid, High Key, and Wizard Snakes have been praised for their bold experimentation and dynamic production. With his first album, Unklevon is poised to become a major force in the world of underground electro.

Yaw Agyeman is an interdisciplinary performing artist born in Chicago.  He works primarily as a musician and vocalist as well as a sound designer but also has an extensive theatre background (as an actor) and as a photographer. His work addresses language and sound as cultural currency.

Yaw’s musical world is rooted in the gospel, soul and jazz traditions of US African-American music. With a voice and timbre that recalls the late, great Nina Simone, his deeply contemplative compositions draw on the rich legacy of great US artists evoking comparisons to not just Ms Simone but also the likes of Terry Callier, Donny Hathaway, Al Green & Bill Withers.

He is currently a member of Theaster Gates’ artistic collaborative project The Black Monks of MIssissippi and has recorded as a featured vocalist with multiple artists in his native Chicago and beyond. As a solo artist he garnered critical acclaim and commercial success with his song “Where Would You Be”, signed to Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings in the UK. The song has been synced multiple times, notably for a high profile White Company Christmas campaign.

Yaw has a new (double sided) single slated for release on September 7 (his birthday) and is working on his first ever solo debut album.
