Frédéric Lo, born Frédéric Bonnet on August 23, 1964, in Rodez, France, is a highly respected musician, composer, arranger, producer, and singer-songwriter. Though his name was relatively unknown outside of France for many years, his 2022 collaborative album The Fantasy Life of Poetry and Crime with former Libertines frontman Peter Doherty brought him international attention.
Based in Paris, Lo is renowned for his behind-the-scenes contributions to the music industry, particularly for his collaborations with a diverse array of artists. He is best known for his work in duet with the late Daniel Darc, as well as for his collaborations with Pony Pony Run Run, Stephan Eicher, Maxime Le Forestier, Christophe Honoré, Alex Beaupain, and Alain Chamfort, among others.
A highly awarded composer, Lo has received numerous accolades for his musical contributions. The album Crévecoeurby Daniel Darc was nominated as Révélation at the 2005 Victoires de la Musique, while 33 Toure by Alex Beaupain won the prestigious Prix Charles Cros in 2009. Additionally, You Need Pony Pony Run Run, the debut album by Pony Pony Run Run, won the Prix du Public at the 2010 Victoires de la Musique.
In addition to his extensive work as a composer and producer, Frédéric Lo has also pursued a career as a singer-songwriter. He released two albums of his own: La Marne Bleue in 1997 and Les Anges de Verres in 2000, further showcasing his artistic versatility.
