I See Hawks in L.A. is a country-rock band formed in the Mojave desert in 1999 by Rob Waller and brothers Paul and Anthony Lacques. They're known for blending traditional country music with psychedelic rock elements. The band has been a fixture in the Los Angeles alternative country scene for over two decades and has toured extensively in the US and Europe.

Their sound is characterised by rich vocal harmonies and narrative songwriting that often touches on California themes, environmental concerns, and mystical subjects. The core lineup over the last decade has included Rob Waller (lead vocals, guitar), Paul Lacques (guitar, vocals), Paul Marshall (bass, vocals), and Victoria Jacobs (drums, vocals) with various other musicians joining them over the years.

The band has released ten studio albums through their Western Seeds Records label, including "I See Hawks in L.A." (2001), "Grapevine" (2004), “New Kind of Lonely” (2012) and "On Our Way" (2021). They've earned praise in the Americana music community for their signature sound: dense three part harmonies, innovative telecaster and steel, and also unadorned all acoustic songs, musing on mortality, whales, car accidents, and the geography of pre-apocalyptic L.A.
