Lyonzon

Lyonzon is a prominent collective from Lyon, France, that has become a key figure in the French rap scene, particularly within SoundCloud’s underground movement. Rising to fame in 2018 with the viral Benibla Freestyle #3 video, Lyonzon is unique for being a collective rather than a traditional group. Each member also pursues solo projects, which contributes to the ongoing evolution of both the collective and its individual artists.

The collective features diverse talents, including Gouap, a rapper and beatmaker with influences from the Ghetto Fabulous Gang and Gucci Mane; Ashe 22, known for his deep, whispered flow over heavy, melody-free beats; Jolly, who blends French and Italian with a distinctive, multicultural style; and Kpri, a young lyricist known for his brutal, multi-syllabic flow.

Lyonzon’s sound spans a wide range of styles, from dark trap to ethereal atmospheres, as exemplified by Azur’s melodic tracks. Anta Diop brings his cold, modern trap edge, while Gg, the collective’s DJ and beatmaker, shapes their musical landscape.
